Ask your friends to help you find the next job.
One of the best ways to make new friends in GTA Online is to start a job search. If you have a few friends who are looking to make the jump to online play, you can create a task for them to find you new jobs.
They can search the jobs on the online job board, or you can just ask them to look in the phone app. If they can’t find anything they like, they can message you if they’re interested in taking a specific type of job.
If you play on a server with a large community, you can also look for opportunities to help out other players. In the first week of the game, only one server had over 100,000 people online; today, it’s over 200,000.
If you see a friend who is struggling with a certain type of problem, you can talk to the owner of that server and let them know what you know. They’ll be able to help out that friend without having to travel all the way to another server.
Go on an arms race with your friends.
One of the best ways to make new friends in GTA Online is to go on an arms race with your friends. The more powerful your team is, the easier it is for new players to get involved. This can be done either in-game or through the Friends Only Mode feature.

If your friend is in a dangerous situation and is in danger of being attacked, you can try to help them out.
